1 (29 ounce) can peaches in light syrup
1 (29 ounce) can pears in light syrup
1 (16.5 ounce) can pitted dark sweet cherries in heavy syrup
½ cup dried pitted prunes
½ cup raisins
2 mandarin orange peels
2 cinnamon sticks

Directions

  1. Pour peaches, pears, cherries, and all syrups from the canned fruit into a large pot. Stir in prunes, raisins, mandarin orange peels, and cinnamon sticks, bring to a boil. Reduce heat to low and simmer until slightly thick, about 2 hours.

  2. Serve warm. Remove orange peels and cinnamon sticks before serving.

Pluma Moos is a traditional Mennonite festive fruit soup served warm as a side dish or dessert on Christmas eve and morning by many families in Canada. Traditionally dried fruit was used but our family recipe calls for canned fruit.
