Bring a large pot of water to a boil, add yams. Cook until very soft, about 8 minutes. Drain, peel off skins.
Heat coconut oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Add yams, cook and stir until browned, 5 to 10 minutes. Sprinkle cinnamon on top.
