Preheat the oven to 450 degrees F (230 degrees C). Line a baking sheet with aluminum foil.
Arrange asparagus and mushrooms on the prepared baking sheet. Drizzle with oil and sprinkle with salt, toss to coat. Roast, stirring occasionally, about 15 minutes. Add butter and thyme. Toss to coat, and roast an additional 5 minutes.
Arrange vegetables on a serving platter. Top with arugula, sprinkle with salt, and drizzle with balsamic vinegar.
